If the character name is scratched out, that character is taken. Some characters already have accounts controlled by the site administrators because they were needed for the site plot - they are still open for people to apply for (ex: Niklaus aka Klaus.)

Deceased characters are not on this list, with the exception of Vicki Donovan and Anna. Any characters introduced in the television show who's death is extremely important to the plot will be admin accounts. If somebody already applied for that character and their character dies on the television show, a poll will be put up for site members to decide that character's fate.
